Small design elements like seating, signage, vegetation, public art, and even the sounds and sights of a space are more than just nice-to-haves. These detailed design elements are crucial to support inclusion and access to community spaces—particularly for people living with dementia.

For example, colour can distinguish spaces and make them visually interesting, while clear and easy-to-read signage helps people find their way around.
